Hello,
I am just curious if anyone has run across evidence based data on the recurrence rate after RP with follow up salvage radiation? Even with lower grade cancers?

Sure. here it is:

Thank you so very much. I had not seen this particular calculator before. That was very helpful! Much obliged.
You should try and remember that you are a sample size of one, the statistics predict the likely outcomes for a group of men with similar pathology, some of them will do a lot better and some a lot worst.
It is not possible to predict who will remain disease free and who will see early recurrence.
I am in a similar position and I have heard a variety of opinions from several doctors, I keep my own council and my fingers crossed, so far my PSA remains below the limit of detection.
Didn’t you have a DECIPHER? Did your GRID show a PORTOS? Possibly that’s helpful in likelihood of a good outcome. I’m asking somewhat for my own information as I too had RT. My PORTOS was low.
I did have a DECIPHER done. I never had a grid done. My DECIPHER was 0.71 putting me at high risk for recurrence and metastasis. My RO felt that since we started radiation at a relatively low PSA of 0.13 that that would mitigate the relatively high DECIPHER. I also did 6 months of Lupron and Casodex.
I didn’t order the GRID, but as a DECIPHER patient, you become part of the GRID, ever evolving. Your urologist, or the physician who ordered the DECIPHER test, has a copy. It’s way too technical for me but the PORTOS portion is fairly cut and dry. At this point, it’s somewhat moot, for both of us.
