Has anyone tried this old drug after chemo failed ? Sometimes surprising results can be obtained..
Cyclophosphamide ??: Has anyone tried... - Advanced Prostate...
Cyclophosphamide ??
It would appear that in the US you would have to convince your doc to use it off label.
What docs do you know of who are using it for prostate cancer treatment?
A phase 2 trial was conducted.

Conclusions: Oral cyclophosphamide can be used on a metronomic basis safely in men with hormone resistant prostate cancer. The efficacy, low toxicity, low cost and ease of administration of cyclophosphamide justifies further studies in prostate cancer in combination with other agents.
When a drug sells for $20 / month, it's hard to get any interest in sponsoring a trial..
My VA Oncologist prescribed it for me last year and it worked quite well
Where is your VA? I'm in the VA in northern Cal. So are you still taking it?
The VA Medical Center in Denver...This drug has been around since 1959 so doctors are comfortable prescribing it "off label" As Bill pointed out, while effective, it CAN have some nasty side-effects (like most chemo drugs) Use only as directed...It's attractive because it can work when other chemo drugs have failed..And it's oral, no trips to the Chemo Lounge for an infusion..
I used it about 9 years ago during one of my vacations from ADT meds. Little to no side effects and it kept my psa low and extended my time off of adt meds to almost 3 years. My oncologist (Dr. Richard Lam) did limit the total time on this medication to at most 2 years due to higher incidents of bladder cancer if you go over this amount. My ADT vacations since this time have only been at most 12 months so it seemed very effective for my case.
Wasn't he the one eyed giant "urologist" in the odyssey....
