I’ve been on Larotrectinib for about a month now. I know that this may apply to just a few people but I find very little information on this drug and even less with prostate cancer. I won’t go into how this drug works, so please look it up, thanks.
So when reading the precautions on this drug a big one is staying out of the sun. I was feeling really good one day and did some yard work. Later that night I was feeling achy and took a hot bath, later that night l got hives. It took 3 days for them to go away. I have suffered very little from some of the other side effects. It is the normal list we all get from other drugs.
There was no affect on my PSA since I went from 57.3 to 99 in two months. I was told that it would take awhile before we saw some movement in that area. I presently suffer from pain in my right hip and leg due to a compression fracture of L5. I start radiation tomorrow to help relieve some pressure on my spine. Other than my PSA my blood work has improved.
The only apprehension I feel being on this drug is the fact there is very little information. Even the doctors don’t have a good handle on what to expect. I have a follow-up in mid June and should see something with my PSA by then. Hope this helps somebody.

I don’t know what affect it has on PSA. The Doctor didn’t seem too surprised about my PSA numbers. She said by next month we should see some change. There is so little information on this drug and next to nothing dealing with prostate cancer.
The Radiation oncologist knows about the drug, Hoping for the best
Yes, I’m rare. There is no information on prostate cancer that I could find. The Dr couldn’t find much information either. I’m being watched very closely.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: ***hives***; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
I did call. Lips were find and I didn’t have any trouble breathing. I just had to wait 3 days for the hives to go away. I’m doing well and just staying out of sun. Thanks.
