What exactly does Doxycycline do?

a study apparently showed that antibiotics combined with vitamin c slowed cancer so some of the men on this site take doxycycline or tetracycline which can be used for acne or some other treatments. They are antibiotics that can be taken continuously for years from what I understand. I took tetracycline from 17-22 years old for acne.

1. Its best to have an oncologist supervising this. Or if not, at least watching from the sidelines. Even if non-soc, your medical intuition will suck real bad.

2. If you can find a good general practitioner, it is good practice to run all your medications through them.

I have found a good low cost concierge doc that costs $200 a month that prescribes my off label stuff and keeps an eye out for conflicts and things.

Not an oncologist, but smart and flexible like Dr Myers. He doesn't cost much more than the airfare for two visits a year. And no charge for phone consults.

I get my metformin and sildenafil prescriptions from him without all the crap I got from my prior GP. And really smart, a lot like Snuffy Myers.

thanks. Who do you use, where do I find a good concierge doc?

Dr. Sobel in Chicago. If you want an introduction, send me a private message. Sort of not the easiest to get started with him. I might be able to cut some of the process out.

Beware of the Avadart it will artificially lower your PSA , I was on it for years only to find out that I had stage 4 cancer before my PSA rose to a danger level. Had I not been on Avadart my urologist would have known that my cancer was progressing before it left the prostate 😡😡😡
