Statins and lethal prostate cancer

I'm just putting this out there in hopes somebody can translate it for those of us with PCa and heart disease who need statins to control cholesterol and triglycerides. I have no clue how well-done the study is or how conclusive or how it fits in with all the other studies. The evidence for and against has us swinging from hope to despair and back again. I'm hoping that statins don't make THAT big a difference either way - well no, it would be nice if they helped to lower the risk like super-significantly (if not prevent it entirely) while NOT increasing the risk, or at least increasing it like almost infinitesimally.

another one I'm incapable of comprehending....except for this part:

"Conclusion

Statin use might be associated with reduced PCa risk only when used for a relatively longer duration, and the risk reduction was higher for PCa of higher Gleason score."

My Gleason score was mostly 9s. My insurance provides atorvastatin at no charge to me. With GP prescribing and Cardiologist and Urologist concurring. Even with a pacemaker and agressive prostate cancer the only meds I'm prescribed are Tri-Mix and a station. One pill a day and a shots for sex. There have been many drugs before now in battling this disease.

No- it's just another observational study. Much better evidence shows no effect.

No effect either way? I'm good with that.
