Would like to know for those who still have their prostate and on treatment and have achieved nadir after more than one year
Time To Nadir: Would like to know for... - Advanced Prostate...
Time To Nadir
Yes. It took me 14 months to reach nadir. Stage 4, Gleason 9. Lots of bone mets.
After external beam radiation, it took 10 months to reach nadir of .73, then PSA started to climb. About two years later when it rose above 2.7 I went on Lupron and have been on it six years. Most recent PSA was .22.
Started 1 year ago psa 1400 - 1600 ... widespread mets prostrate, pelvic, all lymph, thorax, lower leg bones , spine ... all over. Started adt Lupron, Xtandi, Zometa. First month dropped 1350 down to about psa 48. Been <0.1 for last 6 months in a row. Time to nadir was about 5 - 6 months.
Peace brother ✌️
It took me 4 years to achieve nadir. Treated 9 years ago. Slower, with bounces, is often better.
Were you at any point of time "metastatic" ? Or was your prostate cancer confined solely to the prostate region ?
I just went to a funeral of a friend who died of Pc. Why do you ask?
If you think you don't need to or want to answer, please don't.
I have read you saying (in the past) that you are cured of PC.
Just wanted to know whether you at any point of time had
Grade 4 Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer ??
Please feel free to ignore this question, if you do not
feel like replying. Cheers !!
I replied and ask you a question- why do you ask? Please feel free to ignore this question, if you do not feel like replying. Cheers !!
I think I have the answer
No sweat, no need to reply.
How does the funeral of your friend answer my direct question to you
whether you had metastatic prostate cancer or not ??
As far as I am aware, MPC is not curable.
No, sadly it is not - hence, my reply -- Why do you ask? (for the 3rd time)
IF you are cured of PC, then you were never metastatic.
IF you are metastatic, then you cannot be cured, usually. Except, perhaps, in the case you mentioned below...N1 MO PC
So assuming you are cured, I have the answer.
Over and out. Thanks a lot.
Since you apparently have no reason for asking (I've asked you three times), I will assume you are just being frivolous. This is a site for people who are looking for serious answers to serious questions - often a matter of life and death. If you have a serious question, please start a new thread, instead of kidnapping the the thread of a person who does have a serious question. If you only have personal comments, I suggest you use the chat feature, rather than detract attention from those who need it.
If you could not figure out my reason for asking (I answered you thrice), then I think I overestimated you. My fault really because your forte, if any, is obviously confined to PC.
My question was serious and I got the answer.
Nothing further, so don't stretch this out. Absolutely nothing to ask you either on chat or here. Cheers !!!
Thanks Tall Allen....My scans also show improvement each time....appreciate the time and knowledge you are a tremendous help to all!!!!
My husband was diagnosed 8/2017 PSA >677 Gleason 9, bone and pelvic lymph mets. Started with lupron and 6 rounds Docetaxel. Docetaxel took PSA to 25 in 7 months. Since March 2018 Zytiga plus Prednisone and Lupron.
Has gone down but bounced up by few points once in a while. Current PSA is 8.4. Lowest was 7.9 last December but then slowly up to 11 in August. Now down again to 8.4. Scans last Dec showed great response. More scans will be this December. So PSA is still moving in downward "trend" after 2 years. But no nadir. I'm happy if it continues to trend down (even if tics up o ce in a while) and scans look good. He has no pain.
I was diagnosed January 10, 2006 with a PSA of 22.9, Gleason 8 (later downgraded to 7) with cancer in 1 of 9 cores on each side. Started Flutamide in February for two weeks, then started Lupron every four months for 2 years. In May started IMRT 3D radiation at 72 Gys for 40 treatments. In Late August I hit nadir of <0.1 and stayed there for 2 1/2 years to January 2009. Since then I've gone up and down from <0.1 to 0.2, and since May 2014, I've held at <0.1 (with one exception to 0.1). Years ago I read that holding a nadir of <0.1 for two years was a good indicatior of long term success. I'm coming up on my 14th annversary after my diagnosis and am doing better than expected. I wish you well in your journey.
Appreciate it....and that's what I have been learning....all the best to you!!!
