Big pharma soldiers are ready to promote a newer ,very expensive " lutamide"….want you to forget Bicalutamide because it is inexpensive.
A few subtle and veiled lies...did you notice that he said " Apalutamide has a new mechanism of action" NO...it does not..who are you trying to fool.. Neeraj. It t's the same old LUTAMIDE...possible more potent but no different in the way it works
Old Wine In New Bottle....An average gullible ,fearful patient will believe your utterings ...Not me.
These are all LUTAMIDES which work by inhibition of AR receptor. Suddenly, AR receptor blockers are COOL...after they badmouthed Bicalutamide and older lutamides for years in order to sell more of 9000 dollar a month Abiraterone
Did you notice veiled criticism of Abiraterone plus Predisone...I was anticipating this as Abi is no more 9000 dollar a month drug.. price is falling. The makers of Zytiga were fighting in court only a few months ago ,to continue patent with ABI plus Predni...but a smart ,bold judge did not allow it...expect more criticism of Abi in next few months as the price dwindles down.
Enzalutamide is not being used because it makes more money than Bicalutamide. It's being used because it is significantly more effective. One of the problems with Bicalutamide is that it becomes an agonist and feeds the cancer. Here's an article:

I agree that "Big Pharma" is price gouging. The prices for these drugs are ridiculous. However, the effectivity of the drugs is a completely separate issue.
I don’t disagree with you about big pharma’s conflict of interest. But that aside, just objectively evaluating Apalutamide vs Abi on their own merits, the question is if there’s any benefits. Apalutamide supposed to be easier on your brain fog, and fatigue. And you don’t take prednisone with it. If it’s all true, the final question is if it can do at least as “good” of a job as Abi. IF the answer is yes (and there has not been a clinical trial to prove it yet), I don’t see why not switching to Apalutamide if covered by your insurance?
I spoke to my MO and he was kind of ambivalent about it. He did agree that Apalutamide is supposed to be better for brain fog and fatigue though.
