Does the result come as “positive” or “negative” or “malignant”? Anyone know?

The AV-R7 variant is detected or it is not detected, so it will be positive or negative.

That’s what I thought, but the test result in my husband’s patient profile reads, ‘malignant’. We haven’t heard from the MO just yet as to what that means.

Is this the CTC test? It may show AR-V7 on malignant cells.

They were too lazy to fill in the name of the test other than miscellaneous. You'd better ask your oncologist.

I prefer (handle it better) knowing these things before getting the news from the MO. We know it was the Ar-v7 test because it was taken after the other labs earlier in the morning. The PA said they were planning on doing the test that day.

Yes. We know they (doctor ordered) performed it and told us they had to send it off and would not get results immediately. We get all other blood tests within 30 - 40 minutes of them taking blood. This new test result showed up on the patient profile at least 4 -5 days later. I know the MO will explain...thought I'd ask here before waiting on him.

UPdate - what was on the patient profile last week was not the result. The MO called my husband today to let him know the result for Ar-v7 is positive.

His next appt is the end of April so we hope to gather info asap as to the next steps.

Any thoughts or advice going forward is much appreciated.

One question - my husband forgot to ask him about continuing Zytiga, is that something he needs to continue? Anyone know?
