Psa is climbing. Started Xtandi 4 pills a day 2 weeks ago. Cancer outside of prostate based on Aximum scan. Met with radiation oncologist today. Wants to radiate lymphnodes left pelvic wall and abdominal cavity. 5 treatments per area. What can I expect?? Anyone have success??

Yes the retroperitoneal (compartment in abdomen) I think I have it right??
No problem then - it's treatment at the front of the abdomen that is problematic.

Go for it. I have had 4 different ablations leading to big psa drops and less cancer for the other stuff to work on. Proton radiation is less damaging to surrounding tissue if you have a place nearby. Also Mayo can microwave or freeze. I have had all three plus one traditional sbrt.
I had IMRT to all pelvic lymph nodes after two suspicious iliac nodes were found by MRI in 2015. No recurrence there since. If SBRT is doable I would prefer that as I had very low dose (1.5 grays per fraction) which required 50 sessions. But safety is paramount.

thank you lou and break60 He is going to have 5 treatments to left pelvic wall and 5 treatments to retroperitoneal 5 days in a row for each and it is SBRT. Thats the cyber knife right??
