Provenge results?

What can some of you tell us about the results of Provenge treatment?

I am convinced Provenge extended my life, but it’s not really possible to prove that at the individual level. Side effects were limited.

Good question. I’m not sure there is a way to measure its effectiveness. It does not lower your PSA so can’t measure it that way. I received the treatment a couple of months ago. No real signs of any change. My PSA continues to climb, at 7 now. No symptoms, clean scans. So not sure how we measure Provenge. How’s this? It cost $80k so it must work!

It costs more than that so if you think about it, that definitely means its very lucrative. Does not mean it works.

Just wrote on Provenge. No appetite at all since last trtmt. last Friday, HELP!!

I have just completed Provenge last week. I have a very measurable met in my mediastinum (chest) which we will follow with a PET Scan in 4 months. My PC does not produce much PSA so it is not a good reflection of activity anyway. Last one was 2.0.

Had Provenge when PSA was rising on Zytiga. Had SBRT, focused beam therapy, on a large lymph node (4cm) on the Iliac chain. Started Xtandi. Been on it for 3-1/2 years with undetectable PSA. How much can be attributed to SBRT and how much to Provenge? Who knows!
