Yeah, a lot of us here got a later diagnosis. I got mine 3 years ago at 45 years old.
My feeling when I got my official ADHD diagnosis was "now my whole life makes sense!"
Hey there. i am 62 and just beginning my journey. I expect I will have a rather tough time finding a psychiatrist to diagnose me.
Late 40s here, now mid 60s. After seeing a psych for several years for depression, I said to him, you know I think I may have ADHD. I check all the boxes on both types. He looked a bit startled and said, Oh, I think you may be right! I left the country for a couple of years and on my return I looked him up...he advertised himself as an expert on ADHD! Ya, it's true. I didn't go back to him though.
Diagnosed at 50. Was never in trouble at school for misbehaving and was an excellent student.
I’m 53 and FINALLY diagnosed. Lots of things make more sense now. Have hope, lots of help out there. If you’re not working with a therapist I would recommend. They help so much make sense and how to deal with the struggles
