Where do I go for an assessment of my ADHD?

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

I would recommend getting a recommendation from your doctor, who may even give you a referral.* In many places, doctors can make a diagnosis off ADHD.

* The most highly qualified specialists for ADHD diagnosis are psychiatrists and neurologists.

Depending on where you live, other health professionals and mental health professionals may be permitted to make a diagnosis. Some places in the world also allow psychologists to diagnose ADHD.

* I live in a state in the USA which is one of the most allowing, and I was diagnosed by a licensed mental health counselor, while seeing the counselor for treatment of anxiety. (My state also allows nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers to make the diagnosis.)

Gosh that sounds a much better system I’m in Yorkshire England the waiting list is 3yrs with GP thank you for replying really appreciated 😊😊

Oh blimey, I'm in Cumbria, seeing my GP next week but I hope I don't have to wait 3 years! I'm 54 too!

Hi, I had my assessment last week and it was done remotely by Berkeley Psychiatrists.

You go on the website and book an appointment. They then send you 2 questionnaires to fill in.

It is not cheap, I payed £675 but it was money well spent because I now know what is wrong with me. I only had to wait 5 weeks for an appointment.
