For me, it's most difficult to get started on something from scratch.

It's easy for me to join in on a project or a task that someone else started. It's even easier for me to respond to something that is urgent.

But it seems that I can never get started on the things I want to do from my own mind, like writing stories, or blogging, or sitting down to draw.

In short, my weakest executive functioning skill is: Task Initiation.

For me it's making a decision when I have ten things to do ... where to start, where to prioritize ... and so on ...

Definitely I'd want to be able to look at something mechanical without getting overwhelmed. I have no ability whatsoever to work on my car or house, despite my IQ of 140 and science degree.

Oh, and I wish I could find my lighter. Misplaced it earlier the week, probably with everything else I misplaced.

To have been able to study. Tried and failed 4 times. I know I’m smart enough but I just can’t complete things! I was only recently diagnosed at 47 and the huge lightbulb moment I had from that just made so many things make sense.
