I swear I’m the only person in the house who is always freezing! Everyone else feels warm but I’m always wearing a jacket inside the house. Do all stimulants do this or is it just Adderall?

Does Adderall make you feel cold?
Never heard of that, never experienced that. I did go through a period of my life when I was chronically cold. I concluded later that this was stress-related. But just did a google check and yes, there are reports that Adderall can make people cold. Never happened to me ... but wow, I learn something new every day.
I actually get a bit warmer when my Adderall kicks in! I have cold uticaria (I get hives when exposed to cold temps for too long) so we keep my house warmer than my husband is used to. When my Adderall kicks in I turn down the heat and he is very happy lol.
When my dosage increased I started to develop Raynaud's phenomenon. Turns out I was always cold because my toes were always cold.
Unfortunately, although it’s relatively common to develop with any stimulant use, not many doctors make the connection.
I lost both my big toe nails, wasted a year of my life treating a fungal infection that didn’t exist, struggled with ear aches and dry eyes, as well as the obvious always cold and losing blood flow to my fingers before an ADHD specialist asked when the symptoms started (I was wearing gloves during our video appointment so he questioned me). I told him and after checking my chart, he said unfortunately that’s quite common with stimulants.
When I googled it, it clearly states stimulant use can cause adult onset 🤦🏼♀️
Didn’t occur to me as I had already been taking a lower dose for 18 months when I first noticed any symptoms, so the connection was lost on me🙃
I a till take my meds. But now I have thick socks everywhere (glove box, purse), sleep with socks on, always wear gloves outside if it’s not mid-summer, watch my toes for signs of circulation issues and know that some days, if it’s cold or I’m anxious about something, I may lose my fingers for an hour or so.
But it’s still better then not taking my meds 🙃
Just something to be aware of - hope you warm up soon 😊
That's totally a thing! Stimulants restrict blood flow and slow circulation. I think that's a side effect you probably want to share with your prescribing doctor, even if you don't decide to change your dosage right now
I read that 40% of people who take Adderall develop Raynauds over time. It made mine worse. My prescriber had it too.
I was only in Adderall for a few months, so I didn't notice any change like this. However, after I read up on Reynaud's, I realized that I've always had it to some degree since I was about 12 (or maybe I've always had it).
I grew up in southern California, and I've worn socks to bed since my teens years (only shedding them the few nights I would get overheated) because when my feet get cold I can't stay asleep.
I actually feel cold frequently when the stimulant wears off or I don’t take it. During those times I am always trying to wear layers and get under blankets when no one else seems cold. I have read that low dopamine levels also can cause cold sensitivity.
