Suspect I have ADD

So I have been diagnosed with Fibro for some time now, and late last year/early this year I was concerned because it seemed the attention/focus/memory issues were getting worse. I decided to speak with my Dr about it and she sent me to a psychologist to get testing done. I spend 5 hours getting tested to find out I have a very high IQ, but that my focus and memory is about half what they would expect. He also mentioned I may have ADD. I of course dismissed that right away because I'm an adult and they can't have that, plus I am not hyper at all! My Dr put me on Welbutrin and that has helped some, but not much.

Fast forward to now and I decided to research more about ADD. I am

shocked to find that I have most of the symptoms of the inattention

ADHD. But even more shocked that it is genetic and the problems we are

having with my daughter are probably because of ADHD.

I do have an appointment with both the psychologist and my Dr in 2 weeks so I will discuss my discoveries with them.

I am blown away!!!!! This explains why I have had so many issues my whole life with stuff.

Now my question (See, even this post shows ADD tenancy).....How should I pursue an official diagnosis? And what would that even mean???

Hello! I too was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. It wasn’t until my daughter was diagnosed at 6... that I realized it was what I had been struggling with all my life. Long story short, as soon as I was placed on a stimulant (Concerta) my life has changed in such an amazingly positive way! I had no idea just how foggy my head was. I would compare it to seeing blurry and now having glasses on but in my mind. I am so much more productive and I can’t say enough how much this has improved my quality of life. I hope you find out what works best for you. Sending positive vibes your way ❤️
