Looking for suggestion for private school for my 8th grade son.

Hi, Would anybody know there are private school better handling kid with ADHD in or near Westchester NY?

I don’t know of a private school specifically for ADHD in Westchester County, but the public schools are so good there. Does your child have an IEP? You probably already know this, but private schools aren’t required by law to provide support and accommodation for children with learning differences, while public schools are required to do so.

My daughter went to private schools and it was a constant struggle to get them to understand her mood swings. My grandsons are getting lots of support from their I.E.P and 504's.

There are private schools in my area that specialize in special needs children but I could not afford the $20,000 a year tuition.

For ADHD plus a learning disability like dyslexia Windward is amazing. I have a couple friends who have had great success there. It is extremely expensive (I think 60k/yr maybe more) but scholarships may be available if needed. There is another program in Greenwich called Eagle Hill. Also very expensive. It may serve more of the autism community but check it out their website should describe the served community. Also has an excellent reputation.
