Yes, we started this supplement at the end of May. So, he has been on it a little over 2 months. I can't say for sure yet that it works as well as Vayarin. He was on that for 5 months before we saw a noticeable difference. We were able to decrease his medication some and saw better emotional regulation with Vayarin. I feel like emotionally he is better, but we switched to a longer acting medication, so it's harder to determine with the medication change. We are continuing for now since we saw benefits with Vayarin after so many months.

thank you ….have you ever tried a Phosphatidylserine supplement plus the krill oil...our doctor thought that would not get the same result as vayarin because vayarin had the the phosphatidylserine bond the omega 3 free fatty acids which allowed them to be incorporated into the membrane of the nerve sell

I did buy the PS100 supplement, but haven't tried it yet. Wanted to try one thing at a time and the krill oil has phospholipids naturally, bonded to phosphatylcholine, so I thought that might be similar.

This is my first time on a blog as this is all new to me. Not sure if it is appropriate to ask, are there other supplements you have tried that seem to help your son with his focus?

You are perfectly fine to ask specifics on this site. In my experience, most people on here are open about what they have tried, what works, and offering suggestions on how they can help you. You have come to the right place. To answer your question, we have not specifically tried something for focus. We are kind of working backwards, having started with medication and now adding other things to supplement when the medication wears off and to possibly decrease the amount of medication needed. Medication has worked wonders for my son at school. We did start a zinc supplement a month ago to see if that will help to decrease his current medication dose. You might try asking for suggestions on what others recommend for supplements for focus. Good luck to you!

I wanted to mention also that we did try Accentrate for 2 weeks, but my son had a pretty significant allergic reaction to it. The reaction was not evident until after 10 days of consumption. We are pretty sure the reaction was due to the high amounts of B vitamins.

My son had been on Vayarin for a few years. Now he is taking Nordic Naturals Omega3 Phospholipids . Same thing basically that you r talking about. For my son it has worked just as well but every child is different. Nordic naturals has different products for ADD.

Our doctor recommended Kirkland brand (Costco) Fish Oil taken as directed on the bottle to replace Vayarin. We have not taken the advice. The pills are too big and I just don’t believe it is gonna work. But wanted to pass that along... we are taking Accentrate and Krill oil.
