What are the best free reading apps to help a third grader who is falling behind? He has ADHD and needs something that can keep him interested as well.

If your child has an Iep and they struggle with reading they are eligible for an amazing program called Bookshare. They create books in audio format. Www.bookshare.org. I also believe, if they qualify the membership is free becuase he has an as IEP.

As far as what app to read or on depends on the type of device. Is he using an Android or IOS (apple) ?

Hope this helps.

Guess what!! You can go to your local library and get a library card for yourself and your child. It’s free! Then go to the APP store on whatever device you have....and download the APP called Libby. They have thousands of books audio and readable. So you just check them out on your device, read the book, and return the book from your device. It’s awesome. They add new books every day. For adults, teens, and kids. I got this for the exact reason your inquiring about. My daughter HATES to read. But she like to on her iPad. It’s a win win!
