My name is Sophia Odeh, M.A., and I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Along with my dissertation chair, Robert Foltz, PsyD., I am currently seeking participants for a brief online survey which will help to better understand the sensory experiences of children and adolescents with attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This survey will have questions related to demographic information, family constellation, the diagnostic and treatment history of your child’s ADHD diagnosis, academic supports/ accommodations, and a brief questionnaire asking about your child’s sensory experiences. The goal of this survey is to provide the best treatment recommendations based on the sensory needs for each presentation of ADHD.

Participants should be 20 years or older and must be the parent and / or legal guardian of a child diagnosed with ADHD. Your child must be 17 years of age or younger, and he / she cannot be diagnosed with another neurodevelopmental disorder (e.g., autism spectrum disorder). It is expected that the survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. Please feel free to forward this e-mail and survey link to other parents you think may be qualified and interested in this study. I thank you in advance for your participation!

Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or comments at sco4624@ego.thechicagoschool.edu.

Thank-you for focusing your research on children with ADHD. As I was filling out the survey, I realize many of the things that I find challanging about my son, "why does he have the TV so loud all.the time", was on the survey its not just him its just part of ADHD.. or why do you want pants under you clothes, that was on the survey also...

Things become so much more clear the more I learn about it from others. I encourage everyone to take t1he survey so we can learn about how the sensory issues and their impact our children's lives.

Best of luck on your program and with your project.

Thank you for participating and also sharing your experience! I am happy to hear this survey was relatable, and I am hoping others will have a similar experience.

Hi I did the survey also was just wondering I thought I read that we would get some sort of results from it? I may have misread it.

That is a good question! There are no immediate results from taking the survey. I am collecting a sample of responses, and then I will be analyzing the data. I will be collecting responses until 12/31/18, and then I will start the analysis phase.
