Metadate?

My 7yr old son just diagnosed with adhd. Has anyone been taking 10mg Metadate? Any side effects to look out for?

Hi, my son started Metadate last September. No side effects. He had a hard time falling asleep for the first few days, but I got him Melatonin , and he was fine. He started 10mg, after 3 mos dr. increased to 20mg, which was too much. His behavior changed to sarcastic/ mean , so we stopped. Now he is on 5mg Metadate and Abilify.

My son was in 10 mg for a while, he stilll has issues. He is now ion 20 mgs, it seems to make a difference, it’s only been a couple of weeks. I notice that my son loses his appetite, so I try to get to eat as much as he can before the meds and when they wear off. He had issues with sleep before the meds, hyper and couldn’t sleep. Has been taking melatonin during the week. 1 to 1 1/2 mg seems to do the trick. Good luck.
