Posting for my 20yo daughter

Sorry if this is a long post... So my daughter has had the most painful periods since the age of 13 when she first started her menstrual cycle, she has been back and forth to doctors asking for help with relief from this to be told “it’s normal” she then started the pill at 16 to help sort it out but nothing has helped, she has got to the point of taking 2 of her pills a day as that’s what they suggested due to her having breakthrough bleeds. For the last 7 years she has missed countless days from school and work due to the pain being so unbearable she couldn’t get out of bed, she pleaded with the doctor to see if there was any cause of this and was sent for a internal scan to which she was told “it won’t show anything but will will check anyway”

She had her ultrasound scan and got a call from the doctor to say they think she has adenomyosis and endometriosis along with fluid behind her womb and her womb is tilted, they also said that her womb looks old like she is in her 40’s and she will most likely be infertile, she has to wait for a gyro appointment to confirm all of this, I guess I’m just posting here for some advice for her and any stories of people who had similar. As she is only 20 and hasn’t even thought about starting a family yet (even tho she wants children) this was such a big blow to her, I have noidea how to deal with this for her except be supportive towards her going through this.

Hi

I've only just read your post.

This is shocking - outrageous. Neglecting her all those years then dropping one bombshell after another.

How is your daughter now?

How are you coping?

Sorry I'm not much help with her conditions - just very experienced in medical neglect.

xx

Hi,

Sorry to hear your daughter is going through this, I am 24 and got diagnosed at 23.

I think it’s awful how the doctors said she probably wouldn’t be able to have kids as this is sometimes self-fulfilling when you label someone.

There are so many things out there that can help her! Diet and lifestyle changes, acupuncture is amazing for reducing pain and along with Chinese herbs can reduce lesions and put her womb back in place. It’s helped me better than anything else.

Let me know if you would like me to tell you more of my experience

Stay well
