DRE found prostate cancer 4 years ago at age of 79. 11/14 Biopsy one of 18 samples positive(25%). PSA 1.0; Gleason 3 + 3. 7/16 second biopsy 18 samples all negative; PSA 1.0. 4/18 last PSA 0.9. I feel comfortable with AS but wondering if some other testing should be done - if so, what? Various tests are confusing. Bill A.

General disclaimer: I am surely not a doctor and can only offer a perspective from that of an experienced AS patient.
Given your age, your low-risk Gleason 6, and your very low PSA, I'd say that AS is still your best option. More testing should only be initiated if there is a change in these stats.
I'd wager that most men in the USA in their '80s have the same amount of Gleason 6 in their prostates that you have. They just don't know about it because their PSAs haven't prompted a biopsy, and the risk of of that Gleason 6 being the actual cause of their eventual deaths is next to nil.
79 years young! Sit back and relax. I have been on Active Surveillance for Gleason 6 since November 2006
