I horrified not only that the government is destroying the quality of life for chronic and intractable pain patients, but this! You've j am horrified not only that the government is destroying the quality of life for chronic and intractable pain patients, but this! You've just come out of a major surgery, you're in severe pain. What is your option? No, no narcotics to blunt the agony you feel, instead, in spite of even the FDA's concerns over these, you will have an injection that, if lucky, might numb you for a few hours, maybe.

What the heck are Energy and Ways and Means doing in healthcare?

Tell me there's no money being made from these, to me, useless injections. I am frightened for not only CPPs, but everyone.

Hi Neldine,

Are you here in the US? I just checked out the link and had the same “wtf” reaction as you. I couldn’t read the full bill however.

I also suffer from irretractable pain from my autoimmune illnesses and from sports injuries that they are unable to resolve.

This kind of overarching approach scares me. I have been with my father who had colon surgery, knee replacement surgery, and most recently open heart surgery. To even entertain the idea that he wouldn’t have access to proper medication is the equivalent of torture to me.

And yea, it makes no sense why this committee is introducing the bill but it’s very common. Ugh ...

Yes, Washington state. Apparently so upset I messed up poking out my rant. Not enough that I had the pain medication that kept me going (mostly) yanked unceremoniously, but now even those who have had the surgeries you mentioned, but burn and likely trauma patients too will be denied any relief. What a poopstorm. Bet the buffoons running this POS Bill will get whatever they need, but you every cent I have. Thanks for reading this, please share as much as possible, this madness has to stop.

The bill is on the calendar to be discussed, which means I need to finish my paper on opioids ASAP and post it on my blog for everyone to print out, & send to their Congresspeople.

I’ll post the link here as soon as I’m done.
