Metformin and hormonal resistance
I was looking over my notes from a Snuffy Myers talk at the PCRI in 2014. Here are my notes from the talk: Men with metastatic PCA and on hormonal therapy often become hormone refractive. If PTEN is present, then hormonal failure is almost guaranteed. If PTEN is blocked, hormonal resistance is

SUVmax ???
Hello All , from a previous post : The SUVmax can discriminate PCA metastasis degree & oligo-metastasis status. The ADT treated oligo-metastasis patient may still have disease progression when the primary prostatic carcinoma focus SUVmax is greater than 28.22 . This was sourced from Frontiers in Oncology

ADT or no ADT
Diagnosed with 4+3, mri shows 2 lesions in prostate only. Starting proton therapy soon, urologist and oncologist recommend 6 mos of ADT. The latest stody for unfavorable is a difference of .7 years?( hard to understand the study results). Trying to make the decision whether or not to do the ADT.

How long have you warriors been on ADT for advanced low volume PCa?
I’m 62, diagnosed 3 months ago with advanced prostate cancer, metastasized with bone involvement. Started Lupron 2 months ago and Zytiga 2 weeks ago. They tell me I’ll never come off the meds.😕 I’m looking to see how long some of you guys have been doing this ADT thing, either my same regiment or something

Leg Cramps
For the last week I have had severe cramps in both calves. I have also been having mild occasional restless leg syndrome for about 6-9 months very sporadic. Is this a side effect of ADT? or am I just starting to feel the effects of a 75 year old body breaking down?

ADT and IBS symptoms worse
I've been taking Bicalutamide hormone therapy tablets to lower my PSA levels prior to radiotherapy treatment. My Consultant asked that I also have a one of shot of another ADT (in addition to the tablet) immediately prior to start of RT. Since I had the shot ( 4 days ago) my IBS seems worse than

ADT Eligard
taking 6 months of Eligard. Taking 28 radiation treatments in first 3 months. if ADT Eligard starves prostrate cancer cells and reduces testosterone, what is rationale for continued use if radiation killed all cancer cells? Just wondering Thanks

Active surveillance or not for localisedprostate cancer
Glesson 3+4, dre normal, psa 4.2, no symptoms, grade T2 Value now time quality of life and could go for the surveillance, treatment would be radiotherapy and possible hormone therapy with side effects not to be laughed at. Anyone else on active surveillance?

Recurrence after 2.5 year break from ADT
This is a quick note to thank all of the members here who have shared their experiences and knowledge. After a 2.5 year break from Casodex and Lupron, my husband's PSA started increasing in August 2022. It's still low but is now at 2.9. His oncologist ordered several scans including a PSMA. As results

Prostate Removal
I was diagnosed in 2019 with advanced Prostate Cancer with bone, lung, and lymph mets....why wasn't prostate removal even discussed? Seems to me that getting rid of the original habitat might be a good thing. I went straight to ADT + Zytiga and Prednisone

Could we switch to Zytiga now to make hormone therapy work longer?
I've read the article that Tall_Allen included in one of the posts: https://www.prostatecancer.news/2019/12/optimal-chemohormonal-sequencing-for.html "After cross-over, PSA was reduced by more than 30% in 36% of those who had Xtandi-second vs only in 4% of those who had Zytiga-second" If I had known
