Magnesium for RLS
It doesn't help everyone by any means, perhaps partly because some triggers and exacerbators will - as in my experience with
statins
, aspartame and others - overwhelm it. (It doesn't even help my brother).

It Is NOT just Prednisolone
Statins
for liver damage are needed and diuretics for fluid retention plus others all adding to the mix and confusing our bodies. Our bodies are now no longer healing themselves automatically as they were but actually attacking themselves and we need the drugs to counter the effects.

Couldnt see a gp for a week, he doubled the bisoprolol and started esobadan and
statins
. Next day i was in an sdec because of vomiting. They couldn’t get heartbeat down. Eventually it came down and they spoke to cardiology who doubled bisoprolol again. Any encouragement be really appreciated!

Statin Use and Survival Among Men Receiving Androgen-Ablative Therapies for Advanced PCa: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
"Subgroup analyses identified a PCSM advantage associated with
statins
for men receiving ARATs compared with ADT alone (HR, 0.40 ... vs 0.68 ...)..." NOTE: ARAT = Androgen Receptor Axis-Targeted therapy. PCSM + Prostate Cancer-Specific Mortality.

Terrified 😢 Just looking for shared experiences.
My total cholesterol has gone up to 6.9 (it used to be around 5) and with my family history my GP prescribed
statins
. Then I felt unwell whilst running - suddenly really sweaty, dizzy, sick and I’ve been getting discomfort in my left arm/ shoulder.

Statins and Liver Disease
My understanding however is that
Statins
are good for liver disease as they reduce inflammation, My Gastroenterologist indicated this to me. I have also read and researched a bit on this and am hesitant to get off it. How do you guys feel about
statins
for liver disease? Thanks!

Statin Use Is Associated with Better Prognosis of Patients with Prostate Cancer after Definite Therapies:
Statins
, which target liver production, can also prevent PCa cell generation. It seems that a lipophilic statin has the best chance of achieving that. I have been on 40mg Simvastatin for 17 years.

When to take your medication?
Statins
can lower levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol by slowing down its production in the liver, where it is normally produced between midnight and 6am.

Clopidogrel causing duodenitis?
I've been taking clopidogrel, amlodipine and
statins
for years now. Over the last year or so I have developed inflammation of the duodenum, confirmed by endoscopy. The consultant wrote "duodenitis caused by clopidogrel" on his summary of findings.

Has anyone else stopped taking a daily statin?
However, I'm no fool and I know that
Statins
will definitely reduce the potential risk of plaque building up going forward and blocking my Arteries.

Can't get a quote for Holiday Insurance until I specify what the medication I'm taking following Bypass surgery is for.
I tried to explain that I was taking
Statins
but not to lower my Cholesterol as its always been low I'm taking it as it guards against plaque breaking off the Artery walls and it's a proven anti inflammatory. I just gave up on that one. "Yes I'm taking it to lower my Cholesterol!"

Statins and PBC
have recently been prescribed
statins
. I’ve read that
statins
shouldn’t be taken by anyone with liver disease and wonder if others have experience of this.

Statins aid PCa control?
Is there a specific statin(s) that are helpful with PCa? One was mentioned a while ago, but I don't recall the name. My husband has been taking Pravastatin for high cholesterol for many years, but I don't think this was what was mentioned on this site. Any info?

Statins and ET
My GP has recommended I start taking
statins
. I emailed the specialist nurse and she has replied saying the GP will have taken everything into account. I have ET and take hydroxy and blood thinners. I have high risks of heart attack and strokes.
