Fasting.
On my last post I said that I intended to try a fast during my first chemo session last week, and thought I would feed back the results. For 3 days before and 1 day after as well as the chemo day, I ate only melon and a thin (water based,) soup. I drank lots of water and fruit teas. So far (day 5) I

Iron deficiency anaemia and b12 deficiency
I am now taking
ferrous
sulphate
and have stopped taking the PPI and anti inflammatories which I was taking. My Hb count is now 14, but on my most recent blood test my B12 level is 115, which is still within the normal range according to the lab.

Severe spine and abdo pain
Hiya girls, Need a little bit of advice. Think I mentioned in one of my previous 2 posts some of the symptoms I've been having which are lower abdominal, pelvic and lower spine pain which is quite severe. Today I've been in absolute agony! I've taken four 30/500mg co-codamol and four extra relief paracetamols

Ouch, my poor feet!

Liver de-tox
Hi , I am sorry if all my posts are along the lines of "has anyone tried this!" But....has anyone tried an Epsom salts liver de-tox? I am up for trying anything that might help my condition, but, living as I do on my own, like to be able to talk things through with people in the same situation as myself

Daily running
I've been in Cornwall for a week with my gorgeous mum and sisters who live there. I've ran every day and clocked up 40 miles which is more than I've done over a week for a while. I wanted to share what I have learnt so far about daily running..... It's only now after 3 years that I feel my body is ready

There, that's better!
I knew a kicking from Laura would get me going again! Not a great distance but it if you extrapolate times it means I'll be doing 6.5 km in under an hour. Pretty slow I know but after the last effort I'm quite encouraged as I could have run a bit more. It's also a miserable truth that if you ran twice

Fersaday tablets? Is there an alternative?
Is anyone else having problems getting Fersaday Ferrous Fumarate tablets at the moment? Can anyone recommend an alternative? I have been taking 2 tablets for a long time now, as prescribed by the doctor for severe lack of iron (and for me very low ferritin). I can now grow my hair and it is so much

High PSA
I'm new to this site, so here's my story so far: Two years ago (when I was 68) I lost my appetite and began losing weight - I went from 12 stone in April 2014 to about 10.5 stone over two or three months. My doctor did not start doing blood tests until June of that year and did not include a PSA test
