newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer
Hello. I’ve just had my second chemo and I’m finding it is taking me longer to bounce back compared to my first time. Just wondering have you experienced similar symptoms each time or do the symptoms accumulate with each chemo sessions? I know it’s very individual and experiences and symptoms vary

looking for advice.
My husband Martin was diagnosed in 2019 with prostate cancer. Gleason score 7 (3+4) Biopsy showed 12 out of 16 cores. In June 2019 he had Robotic surgery. We were told everything went very well. His PSA dropped to <0.05. This lasted until September 2020 when his PSA started to increase 0.46. And continued

Life beyond Myelofibrosis
I progressed from ET to Myelofibrosis a couple of years ago. I had an enlarged spleen and ruxolitinib lowered the platelets too much so I was switched to fedratinib. Depending on what predictive tool was used, I had a median predicted life span of between 2 and 14 years - not terribly helpful! I was

Here I go.
So the beast has returned - In summary, after a 2 year ADT vaca, my PSA started to climb so i was tracking it monthly. I also got to Mayo and they did a PSMA/CAT in october (PSA=0.2)- that they "said" was clean. In March PSA went to 1.5 so we did another scan at the end of April- and I have two mets

blip in treatment continued
not sure what happened? Continuing We are both now in a place of extreme anxiety and trying to cling onto vague hope If it fails then it will be a more invasive chemo or to decide to stop treatment? Has anyone heard of such a blip and possible outcomes.? I should add that in last 6 months he was

Carboplatin & Etoposide
Hi everyone. My dad will be starting Carboplatin and Etoposide next Monday. I was hoping to get some tips for helping make my dad comfortable. I have read random tips such as starting Claritin before and buying ice mitts/hat, etc. but wanted to ask those who have been through chemo, what are some helpful

Chemo may be helping
Hi Fellow Fighters, Prior to my third round of Taxotere last Friday, I had blood work done. After 2 rounds, my PSA dropped 4.7 points. TBH, I feel like crap today, but the results are promising. My blood work also showed low cortisol levels, how concerned should I be about that? Thanks.

Heading towards TAVR
I am elderly and have metastatic breast cancer which is kept under control with
chemotherapy
, targeted therapy and more ever-changing cancer drugs. Six and a half years ago, when first diagnosed, my heart was okay. Now, it seems it is a candidate for TAVR.

post surgery FLOT decision!
Hi everyone we’ve got an appointment with the oncologist tomorrow to discuss whether or not to have the 4 cycles of FLOT. My husband was staged as T4a N1 or 2 and M0 and it was touch and go whether he could have the surgery. We were told because the tumour was so large and bulky he’d go for a trial dissection

side effects of Tamoxifen
I joined Health Unlocked in 2016 when my daughter was diagnosed with both breast cancer and diabetes. She was 36 at the time so it was the full works in terms of treatment. She underwent a lumpectomy in her left breast, chemo, radiation and has been on hormone therapy - 1 tab of Tamoxifen a day since

Gratitude
It is my husband who has AFib. A long story but having a lobe of his lung removed for cancer and grueling chemo causing heart and kidney damage and Covid have all contributed. But I am so grateful for this group. I am a retired RN and sometimes a little knowledge causes lots of anxiety. Thank you

When do I go from here?
I have tried almost all available options and the numbers continue to get worse. Pending treatment options - immunotherapy (low success rate) or JEVTANA (could buy me a few more months). The last 12 months of constant nausea, which still continues even after I have stopped treatment, has left me very

PSA Question
I updated my husbands profile to show his PSA went from -- 2.08 in January to... 1.73 in February 1.77 in March 1.78 in April His next test is 6/6. It has never gotten lower than 1.24 back in December of 2022. Is it normal for some people to not have an extremely low PSA? He

I recently updated to ask about chemo options, mainly cabazitaxel with or without carboplatin, or a second round of docetaxel, this time with carboplatin. I had been discussing these with my Mayo doctors, Kwon and Orme. Then earlier this week, Dr. Orme phoned me to report that after another genetic

Cortisol results help
Hi all,Recently started levo for underactive thyroid, have been feeling not quite right for a long time, think it all kicked off when my husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 when our baby was only 6months old. Thankfully it was caught early and after surgery and chemo he was given the all clear.
