PMR Leading to Fibromyalgia???
So I must follow the guide lines and continue to reduce by 1mg every 4 weeks as she can't allow me to continue on the
steroids
. I have asked if I can go slower, say 0.5 mg every 4 weeks, asked about not dropping by more than 10%, she flatly refused.

Anyone had back (muscle) spasms? Is it linked to PMR?
I'm wondering if it is linked to the PMR or
steroids
because it has left me with weak muscles?

Upper airway obstruction on spirometry?
So I have had a history of rhinitis/polyps for the past 14 years, it is treated with daily nasal
steroids
/(drops if bad) and an antihistamine- though all allergy tests have been negative.

Weaning off steroids causing mood changes?
Afternoon all, I am on 7mg
steroids
at the moment and I have been weaning off
steroids
steadily for about a year or more I would say. I have been on
steroids
for over 4 years now. I have been as low as 5.5mg before.

immunology testing
- that I might need to be prescribed
steroids
, or might like to get some immunology tests. We are trying naturally - have been for 2 years - whilst I wait to hear if I’ll be made redundant so can’t afford ivf currently & would like to know I’ve thrown everything at a natural attempt.

Tooth extraction and advice on increasing steroids and stopping methotrexate
I have had GCA since 2020 and have managed to reduce
steroids
to 5.5 from the initial dose of 60mg. I am currently struggling big time at that level. On Monday l am due to have a molar extracted and wonder if l should increase pred on that day or earlier or not at all.

Chest infection shall I increase steroids for a few days.
I have PMR and GCA diagnosed in 2020. Started on 40 mg then quickly reduced as advised by consultant, which caused a flare. Fortunately found all of you. I have been on 9 mg for about 2 months but had chest infection since last week. Got antibiotics and slowly recovering. However I have asthma and am

Lymphedema & Knee bursitis
I have Inflammatory arthritis, Sjogren's and OA. I have been on Methotrexate and Imraldi since 2017, before that I was on Benepali. I have had a new hip in 2017 and I also suffered with my knees which despite many steroid injections they are no longer having any effect. I saw my rheumatologist

Leflunomide or Tocilizumab
She went on at some length about the repeated flares and the need to get the
steroids
down and has started to say that perhaps the leflunomide should be replaced with Tocilizumab. I am to stay on 8 mg for 2 weeks, have another blood test and she will then review the result.

Hip Replacement while on treatment??
My husband, who is in a Clinical Trial at MDA for Richter's, needs a hip replacement badly - such that his severe arthritis is a bigger deal to his quality of life than the Richter's. He saw an orthopedic pain management specialist last week who had nothing to offer, stating that a steroid injection

Are Toe sores part of Bechets?
Hi there, Does anyone else get little sores between toes and belive them to be part of Bechets? I saw a new Dr Rheumatologist today who thinks it more likely a fungal thing. She admitted to not having many or any other Bechets patients on her book. The sores sometimes look like a spot other times

Heart issues and pred
I found this https://evidence.nihr.ac.uk/alert/low-doses-
steroids
-increase-cardiovascular-risks-in-inflammatory-diseases/ I am not suggesting for a moment that pred is in any way a culprit. We all know how vital it is to us. Just something to be aware of - I did not know until I started looking.
