advice on sulfasalazine and the sun
I have been told by my rheumatologist nurse that I need to start taking sulfasalazine for my reactive arthritis, as I had a steroid injection after taking
steroids
orally, but it’s still not keeping the joint stiffness at bay completely .

Update to anyone interested
Now I'm back to the neck and both girdle pain that I had back in October last year - I am more certain than ever that it is PMR while the GP and Rheumy fanny about with their fibromyalgia label and do their best to deny me
steroids
which I know from my Cyprus adventure last Autumn relieve the pain.

Unknown Cause Encephalitis
It feels like i'm taking these
steroids
and not even knowing if they are helping or not. I am also living in a foreign country and my family is on the other side of the world at the moment. It feels quite overwhelming. Please let me know if anyone has experienced anything similar!!

How would a rational person deal with this? What would be their thought process?
Twelve years later I have been under ent had ct scans which have shown some sinus thickening, they said it didn’t look too bad and advised me to carry on with nasal
steroids
.

Should I increase my
steroids
again under sick day rules when having flu jab? Sorry for long post but very confused with how to progress. Not sure respiratory ward or nurse giving jab completely understands the situation. Any advice from you experienced people would help.

The Rheumatology Saga Continues!
He said he'd never heard of a plan like that and 30mg of
steroids
would probably mask most issues and it wasn't helpful to be on such a high dose.

I refused
steroids
as I listen to my gut instinct, but was started on mycophenolate. As teams carried on investigating what was going on further scans were showing nodules were disappearing themselves. Which was great.

Hello everyone, I've had diagnosis of PMR & GCA since 2012 (@45) on maintenance
steroids
and HYXQ since. Rheumatologist did hand ultrasound scan to see if possible RA . Was surprised when told I had, as I hadn't really had probs with hands .

stiffness
I was given 40mg
steroids
per day , as suspected GCA . Then saw a rheumy who reduced me to nil
steroids
in 8 weeks . During tapering at around 15,20mg per day , I felt the same pain return - neck, shoulders & upper arms . Also legs, groin & hips . Appetite declined .

Asthma Flare-up
I haven't really felt a difference in myself since starting the
steroids
and my peak flow isn't moving above 310 when it's usually about 450.

Steroids and Diabetes type 2
since I’ve been on
steroids
for PMR, for just over 2 months, my blood sugar tests have increased from between 7 to 10, taken 3+ hours after meals, to between 8.5 to 12.5, taken 3+ hours after meals. Can I expect this to improve (lower) as I taper?

Struggling to reduce, despite slow descent
I am feeling pretty despondent about where I am going though I know the
steroids
are valuable and my only option to make life manageable. I developed PMR symptoms in March/April 2022 and was given the diagnosis in May by a rheumatologist who I saw privately.

Dear Friends This is Mom asking
The MS doctor started to proceed to put him on an agressive
steroids
- he is responding well and is reporting the right side of his body is returning back to normal for now. My ask: how do you know you have MS? When a doctor cannot depict the root cause? The symptons may be different?
