Protein in my urine
I was given many IV infusions to help stop the rejection (Rituxan and
Steroids
). The UTI was actually a blessing in disguise because without that, they would not have found the autoimmune disease perhaps in time to stop the attack on my new kidney.

Synacthen test results- any advice?
The endocrinologist has not suggested any treatment, use of
steroids
etc. and this concerns me from what I've been reading about the risk of adrenal crisis. Main symptoms are tiredness, low immunity and lots of infections, not on
steroids
or any other medication.

Recovery from PMR
I never took
steroids
but took ibuprofen for the pain and to get me through the working day. After two years the condition burnt out and I recovered completely.

Dreading seeing the Rheumatologist
Hi everyone, I have an appointment coming up with my Rheumatologist which I’ve been under for the last 3 1/2 years (I’m in the UK, we don’t get a choice in who we see). It took him a couple of years to finally diagnose PMR. During that time I’d become almost housebound. He insisted I take the

It’s back 😩
I really don’t want to go back on
steroids
as it took me so long and hard work to get off of them and to be honest they didn’t give me much relief during the time I was on them although my ESR levels went down to 2.

Feeling very despondent
I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2019 and my GP started me on 15 mg per day
steroids
plus other medication to offset the effects of the
steroids
. I immediately started to feel much better but when I dropped down to 10 mg per day I had a flare and had to go back up to 15mg.

I think I might need a second opinion regarding my Behçet’s diagnosis & management. What do you think?
Instead I was again going around in circles with my azathioprine and
steroids
.

I doubled my
steroids
as recommended by my adrenal help nurse. Forgot to ask how to reduce. I know I can go straight back to original dose after a week. If on a higher dose for 2 weeks or more do you have to taper off slowly? Appreciate advice

Learning to live with PMR
Around the same time, some dental treatment requiring 2 days of
steroids
resulted in an immediate 'cure'. Finally when I saw a rheumatologist in September and told him this, he diagnosed PMR - I'd never heard of it!
