COPD and Pneumonia
Hello. My mom has severe COPD and got out of the hospital last week after a 3 week stay for pneumonia. She’s had COPD for 16 years and just went on O2 about a year ago. Was I wise
Currently on 3.5mg. Rheumatoid arthritis has shown itself in both hands and is very painful. GP said 'I could give you a steroid injection but I don't expect you want that'. I said not - the word 'steroid' frightened me as I am afraid it will be play havoc with the Pred. Was I right to reject his offer

I thought it was just a cold!
Not on ocrevus anymore, but I had the 1st of my monthly tysabri on the 20th, and I've since got a chest infection 😞 a couple of nights of not being able to sleep properly had really affected me, to the point where on Monday just gone I was wanting to get in to see a GP! But, when I called them up, they

Good news about steroids!
I thought I would share the results of a recent study. It looked at 1112 (wow!) people with Rheumatoid Arthritis who were either taking 7.5mg or less of prednisolone regularly, or a control drug which wasn't a steroid. After two years, those taking prednisolone weighed on average only around 1kg more

No Spring Covid Vaccination for AF patients
I had a Covid vaccination in January of this year and, fortunately, didn’t get any ectopics or other side-effects which I have had in the past following the vaccine. I was told to have another jab after 90 days (that is how long the vaccine is effective for, apparently), but it seems that the Spring

I am on 17mgs Pred for PMR for 6 weeks. I have had glaucoma for 8yrs . At my opthalmology FU today the, OCT showed marked deterioration in one eye since March. The GCC Analysis has gone all red, when it was mildly yellow before. Has anyone else noted the same when they went on steroids? I am off for

Severe Degenerative Arthritis and Osteoporosis
I have had osteoarthritis for many years, both knees and hips have been replaced and I have degeneration in other joints. Nearly four years ago I had a spinal collapse with the vertabrae in most of my back tumbling like dominoes, caused by osteoporosis. A recent xray has now confirmed severe degenerative

New here
Hi everyone. I’m new here. 32 weeks pregnant and experiencing severe urethral pain for over a month. Doctors think the baby is on the nerves supplying the urethra. Cystoscopy was clear, no uti. Has anyone ever had this experience? Constant urge to pee and lightning bolts every few minutes shooting down

Nervous changing from Prednisolone to Hydrocortisone
I have been on prednisolone for about 6 years and was down to 4.5mg but not feeling great with general pain so upped it to 5mg. Adrenal gland isn’t working so I doubt if I can get off steroids entirely anytime soon. Anyway spoke to my Endocrinologist the other day and we discussed trying Hydrocortisone

Bad cold sore should I wait to inject Methotrexate?
I was at the dentist last Thursday - not my usual one - and she was a bit rough! She split my lip in the corner and it's came out with large cold sores which are not healing! 😔 I'm considering not injecting today to give them a better chance to heal - what do you think? They're sore and I can't eat

Pneumonia and collapsed lung after catching the ‘100 day cough’
For all you folks who have Lupus, please be careful of this ‘100’ day cough that is going around at the moment, as this is what caused me to end up in hospital. I was diagnosed with Lupus in February 2022. I’ve had a rough ride for the past few years, ending up in hospital every year for one thing
