Steroids _ I hate them!
I have been on prednisolone for 12 years because of Lupus, I am on 5mg daily. Two years ago I started Sarilumab SC injection once a fortnight which appears to be working . I really want to come off prednisolone, to try and get some weight off. My Consultant was going through my drugs

Hi everyone I phoned the nurse help line before Easter and found they are going to put me on the biologic Etanercept and I was told I’d get a telephone appointment and that it would be Sciensus delivering the injections. My blood tests have all come back, no sign of TB, but positive for Zoster which

Covid booster vaccines
hi Does anyone know if partners / carers of clinically extremely vulnerable people are eligible for the Covid boosters in April. I am under 75 years of age. I am “happy” to have it done privately at a cost of £100 approx but would need to travel some distance at the moment. Thanks for any advice

Spring 2024 Covid Vaccine invitation.
Good evening everyone. I’m enquiring if anyone has been contacted with an invitation to have a Spring Covid vaccination booster and if so, how many are or have taken this up? My G.P’s Surgery messaged me recently and I have an appointment for this on 1st May. I have since heard of three people who have

Reducing steroids after illness
I should know this and I have written it down somewhere. When I first had the acute urinary infection I doubled up from 5mgs of Prednisolone to 10 and my CRP was 270, it was 70 last week and I was told to continue doubling until I had finished the antibiotics which I did today. As it is only 12 days

Should I ask to go up on my levothyroxine dosage?
Hi everyone! As suggested, I followed everyone's advice regarding the blood test, and also I've been taking the levothyroxine earlier (leaving more of a gap before eating or taking other medications) for a month, and my latest results are: Serum free T4 level 12.0 pmol/L [7.9 - 14.4] Normal 05 Apr

IBS, possibly menopause, any advice
Hello, I’m looking for any advice if possible, I was diagnosed with IBS over 20 years ago now. I think I had it as a child, it seemed to come about right around the same time I got my periods at 11. Every month I would have horrendously heavy menstrual cycles that were so painful I’d almost pass out

Chest infection without steroids
Hi, I am recently diagnosed with asthma - back in September with an awful 12 days in hospital after a cold became bronchitis. Was on oxygen etc. I am a man in early 40s. I had another cold in early November which afterwards led to coughing up thick green stuff and bad wheezing. Took steroids and antibiotics

Covid Injections for April 2024
Hi Everyone. Has anybody received a letter yet about their April Covid jab? You follow the NHS App and it brings up an out of date link telling you about Autumn 2023 jabs. It then tells you further down that the page will be updated in 2026. I just looked on my personal NHS account and nowhere can

We finally have a new Evusheld!
The FDA recently granted an emergency use authorization for a new Covid prophylactic for the immunocompromised. It's called Pemgarda and it is administered intravenously. It's like the former Evusheld in that it gives us antibodies (which is great for those of us who don't respond well to Covid vaccines
