Stopped Tocilizumab, CRP rising, is it a GCA flare?
I'm hoping to find someone else who had GCA, has stopped taking steroids and stopped Tocilizumab (Actemra), to know how their journey went from then on without treatment. I was diagnosed with GCA over 3 years ago. I started with prednisone, then Tocilizumab injections plus prednisone, then the injections

Steroids
hello everyone, I know some of you are knowledgeable on steroids and tapering but any experience on what I think is called an ‘inter current event’??? I was down to 3mg and doing ok but have got another chest infection (3rd one since starting Baracitinib in April) so back on antibiotics. I understand

I'm really tired with all these ideas about lung cancer
I was diagnosed with pneumonia, I don't know what stage of pneumonia I have, it was not mentioned in the x-ray results. The results were sent to my GP, and he prescribed me medications to treat pneumonia. I think it is difficult to know what stage I have, even if I thought about this. This is because

Old Knee Injury
5 years ago I sprained my knee and from then on have had swelling and pain….it seemed to trigger my RA. At that time after about 9 months I had an mri which showed a bit of damage and a maniacal tear. The advice then was rest, nsaids etc and things will improve. Then time passes and you get used

internal shingles
hi, I’ve been diagnosed with internal shingles and it’s the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I’m on my last day of Aciclovir, I’m taking paracetamol and codeine during the day and 3 amitriptyline at night, this has been going on for over a week. Is this normal? Any advice gladly accepted

first time covid - symptoms expectation
Hello fellow RA warriors, I have been very careful since the start of the covid era - very limited outings/socializing, always mask up when out, no more gym exercise classes. I decided to enjoy the holiday a little bit more this year - dined out with a few family members in a crowded and popular restaurant

Steroids not working?
I’ve just had a 5 day rescue course of prednisolone due to an asthma flare. However, my peak flow is still only about 70% and I have an itchy, scratchy throat and cough. I don’t actually have a cold so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ve never had a course of steroids before where it hasn’t made me completely

My name is Tim and RLS sucks!!!!! In 2013 i was put on disability because I have flat back syndrome and it has caused chronic pain for over 20 years non stop 24/7 and I am addicted to opioids. On June 20th of this yr I received a dbl laminectomy on my l4 and l5 vertebra and the knife was removed. Now

Flare up after ear infection
I've had ear infection which the doctor gave me antibiotic spray for, thankfully ear pain had gone after a few days, but left with jaw pain, headaches and extreme exhaustion, as soon as I feel a little better I feel I have the energy to do a little bit, then I'm straight down again after the slightest

Covid testing
Does anybody know if home carers are still expected to do Covid tests? I have a new carer and when she came today she was coughing a lot. I asked her when she had last tested and she said she hasn’t tested since January of this year.

Thrush but not a bird
I have been given the wrong dose of my inhaler for Asthma. Now have to use two puffs instead of one to obtain the same amount. Will this increase my sore throat and oral thrush burden ? It is something I struggle with. Nothing to be done until Monday. Any advice would be welcome.

Disability Allowance - Any Advice Please
Hi everybody. At a recent trip to hospital for my usual check ups a question was posed by one of the medical staff. “Are you getting Disability Allowance”? No I answered! “Well you should have a look at that” they replied “especially if you have had to stop work” So that got me thinking. I am 62, I

Ultralow biomass biome - EMMA result pre-FET
Hi friends, Thanks to everyone who posts in this forum. I've found it so helpful. I've just received my EMMA test result, which has come back as "ULTRALOW BIOMASS BIOME". I previously had 63% lactobacillus and 29% gardnerella. I did the antibiotic followed by two rounds of probiotics. My doctor

Colonoscopy
Hi I’m due a colonoscopy next week and wondered what other people have done about their steroids. The prep leads to bowel evacuation. I’m currently on 7.5 msg. Would it be worth doubling the dose or upping it to 10mgs a few days beforehand? Any tips gratefully received!

My only PGTA embryo has failed to implant
Hi all It's been such a deflating week. We transferred our only PGTA tested embryo last week and it has failed to implant. We honestly worked so hard to maximise our chances and have spent so much money. It's even more frustrating because of the time we spent which now feels totally wasted. We spent
