Thanks for everyones kind help. I have now asked to be reviewed by Haemotology and have emailed my results to the docter asking for an urgent neck ultrasound. No response as yet. I have randomly been given an appointment for a lung function test. If my windpipe is blocked will this show anything? Keep

hashimotos and hypo/hyperparathyrodism
I also have a diagnosis of pernicious
anaemia
which can also cause hypo/hyperparathyroidism. I do not believe a GP would have enough knowledge in this field to know what tests to request.

Peripheral neuropathy and neurology's response
It is unlikely that she has functional B12 deficiency with no
anaemia
/normal MCV (it's very rare). I don't know if there can be a toxic effect from the B12 injections. We can see her but it will take a long time as a routine OP. My questions!

B12 - advice on supplementing injections sought
Hi, I was recently diagnosed with pernicious
anaemia
. Initially put on 3-monthly injections. Changed to 2-monthly by GP because of recurrence of neurological symptoms (including frequent scintillating scotomas, migraine and balance issues).

Starting B12 injections, how often?
Hello everybody, I will be receiving my first B12 injection next week. My blood test results were as follows folate 3.4ug/L, ferritin 19.9ug/L and B12 218ug/L before any medication. I started on iron and folate tablets a week ago. What I'm wondering is how often should I be getting the B12 injection

Advice on folic acid
I was diagnosed with pernicious
anaemia
in nov last year . I am 65 years old and also have hashimotos thyroiditis for 30 + yrs. I had been under my gp for low b12 and folate for over a year ( just given folic acid) as my b12 was not low enough to start injections. PA runs in our family though.

Problems with medication supplies
Hi. Since I recently swapped to home deliveries for medication, every 4 weeks some meds are missing or out of stock.I didn't have this problem when I ordered directly from the GP, changed over because I was struggling to get into town to collect my prescriptions. The messages from Lloyds Pharmacy says

GP wont prescribe Hydroxycobalamin until further blood tests conducted despite neuro involvement.
Good morning.I've found this forum out of desperation having experienced what I now know are symptoms of B12 deficiency for a few years. After repeated B12 levels over the years which consistently showed my levels dropping (treatable since 2021 in some parts of the country) they were finally low enough

Chronic pain , degenerative spinal disease
Every 8 weeks I have a B12 injection for management of Pernicious
Anaemia
diagnosed in 1985. However, the pains shooting into my toes and burning sensation around week 6, drives me crazy. The GP is nice but does not understand my predicament.

Why di feel tired a lot?
I've joined the group as recently been diagnosed with pernicious
anaemia
. Would be really interested in hearing about others experiences with this. I'm having b12 jabs now, which I've been told will be for the rest of my life.

A positive tale...so far
He diagnosed me with Autoimmune Negative Pernicious
Anaemia
, and recommend I continue with twice weekly subcutaneous injections, which he taught me to self administer. I gave my GP a copy of the consultant's letter along with a note to say I was going to self inject. Out and proud!
