Worsening PA symptoms after Covid
But I don’t think they had read my notes about having pernicious
anaemia
. I also don’t know what kind of b12 measure they were looking at. I had already had B12 injection 2 days before I caught Covid but I decided to self inject last week just in case, and felt a huge improvement.

Low vitamin D
I’ve had blood test which indicates 21.6 level of vit D which is low. Explains a lot of my symptoms. Gp not in today and the others are only fielding vital calls. Should I take a supplement meantime? I’m on 50 level thyrox. Home alone and anxious....

Silly little setbacks!
I've been doing a bit of sleuthing! As a rule I don't look at anything medical on Google, but I have had a sneaky feeling that I know the cause of many of my symptoms which have been confirmed with a blood test. What with having blood transfusions, iron, magnesium and other such things, I deduce low

Please help! At a loss with my dad's symptoms and GP
Hi all, Just joined this as not sure where else to turn! My Dad is 72 and in November 2020 his bloods showed that he was low in b12 (sorry don't have exact result). At the time I was baffled by this as he was eating eggs daily and ate red meat regularly too. After a quick search I read about PA and

Husband just diagnosed with heart failure
On Thursday last week the GP phoned and said that the special blood test he did showed my husband was suffering from heart failure and severe
anaemia
I took the call as hubby is partially deaf, to say I was shocked distraught and devastated is an understatement.

41 YO bloodwork test results without methyl malonic acid
My friend was seen her GP for weird symptoms she has and the doctor was forgot to ask lab methyl malonic acid test but all other bloodwork was done. Unfortunately she has injected two times hydroxocobalamin so it's not possible to redo bloodwork for methyl malonic acid. She sent to me her bloodwork

Frustrated with NHS
I tried to make the argument that both my Mother and Grandfather have pernicious
anaemia
, I have IBS (which affects my ability to absorb minerals from food), I have 75% of the symptoms of a B12 deficiency and I live a healthy lifestyle so there's no reason for my levels to be so low.

Side Effects of Niraparib (ZEJULA)?
Here is the list of common SEs: Very Common ≥10% occurrence (happens in greater than 10 out of 100 patients): • Decrease in red blood cells that carry oxygen; this may make you feel tired or short of breath (
anaemia
) • Decrease in a type of blood cell called platelets that help stop bleeding;

Local medics or NHS assuming EDS is only a MH condition
I have
anaemia
, pain is substantially worse, my mobility is poor and worsening and I struggle to do activities of daily living. Apparently all these can wait.

Sudden drop in EF
Hello everyone, I recently posted about my husbands severe
anaemia
and had some really helpful feedback on what to do about it. Shortly after that post I noticed crackling in my husbands lungs and convinced him to get to A&E as he was breathless at rest.

Memory problems diagnostic process
I came across an article I thought was interesting and am sharing it here. It's from the Mayo Clinic Proceedings (US, same journal as the Many Faces of Cobalamin Deficiency article. They call the symptoms "forgetfulness" problems, but they seem closely related to the word-finding problems experienced

Low iron levels
My doctor has advised me that my iron level is on the low side of the normal range. Should I take iron supplements to boost it as my doctor is happy to leave the levels as they are.

Pernicious Anaemia Blood Tests
I'm waiting for a GP call over the next couple of days, and was going to request a test to rule Pernicious
anaemia
out, but it seems like they've possibly all been done already.

Did Anyone With Diagnosed Pernicious Anaemia or B12 Deficiency have rapid weight gain before the deficiency was found?
I have recently added to my full house of Chronic Health conditions with tests showing high platelets , abnormal blood cell size , severe Vitamin B12 and Iron deficiencies and severe Vit D deficiency. I have just had the tests for Intrinsic Factor antibodies , folate , autoantibodies and Coeliac
