A little something bright and happy

Hello all! I'm still relatively new to this group, so I hope this post is alright. I would just like to take a few moments to share some positive things because sometimes with melanoma a lot of things feel dark and gloomy. I know I personally feel better when I am filled with hope and optimism for the future, so I hope it will have the same effect on others!

I am grateful for:

-This group and its kind, caring members. A few of you have taken the time to correspond with me through the messages and email and it has changed my world! I went from feeling very alone and afraid to understood and cared for. Thank you. And to everyone new, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

-My oncology unit and my social worker/counselor... they have been supportive and kind in so many ways

-I started taking the Braf/Mek pills in September and visibly saw good results. In the end of December, I was happy to see clear scans. I know that scans can sometimes reveal positive progress, or negative progress, and I am working on not putting all my mental energy into waiting for results and just trying to live healthfully and fully every day, however I want the good news to be a source of hope for others as well.

-this weekend I met up with someone from this group who lives in my town and we spent a few hours just talking, laughing, crying together. Thank you! If you find someone near you, face to face community can be so great too!

-the gift of today. Life is unpredictable, but we are here today. Enjoy it as much as you can. Thanks for being here for me! Let me know how I can be here for you!

I would invite others to also share something positive if you feel up to it. It doesn't necessarily have to be diagnosis related, but it can be. Happy Monday :)
