New to group, but not to Melanoma

Hey guys!

My name is Britt and a 34 year old mama, who was recently diagnosed with my 3rd Melanoma in the past 3 years.

My first was Stage 2 (on my back left shoulder), and I had 2 nodes checked- they were clean. My second was in situ on the back of right calf. My most recent looks to be around stage 1, at least 0.4 mm, and near my left upper arm close to the armpit. As of now, my surgeon does not feel the sential node biopsy is needed.

I'm beginning to have my doubts. I am curious how many of you had a similar diagnosis and had your nodes checked and what were the results?

Thanks :)

Hello!

Sounds like you should go with your gut! If you feel the SNB is what you want, push for it. Have you met with a melanoma specialist yet? I would encourage you to do so, if you haven’t. Best wishes to you. Fight for what you want. Robyn

Hey Robyn,

We are going with SNB. I havent met with a specialist yet, but thinking it will be in my future. I believe the closest one to me is in South Florida. Thanks for your encouragement!

Good! Glad you are getting it done! Melanoma specialists are very important with this cancer. So even if you take a trip and visit him once, it’s important! Keep on fighting on! Good luck and keep me posted!
