23 year old, fighting life with bipolar II, Borderline personality disorder, and PTSD.

Really online to seek guidance.

I see a psychologist, domestic violence councillor, and psychiatrist. But I feel none of that is enough and I don't know what the next step is.

I also take medication that I don't see it to be working.

It's so hard to not just give up.

I have always lived by the quote "Never give in, Never back down" but I really don't know if I can do that anymore.

Hi @jseex

You really are coping with a great deal right now. You didn't mention how long you have had these issues but I suspect you've been battling quite some time.

It's good that your treatment is covering each health problem separately. If you have been on the same medication for a long while and feel it no longer helps, always best to go back and discuss this with your Drs.

Sounds to me as though you need a support group or something similar, where you can chat when you feel you need that extra support and you can certainly do that here, so remember, we are always here for you.

You could also ask your Drs. for information about support groups in your area or check online.

You're a fighter! you're just having a tough time right now but you won't give up. Just an email away.

Take care

Thank you Chloe40,

this message made me smile.

I have been battling for 4 years, but it seems like a lifetime.

I'm actually in the middle of a med change, I just come off a medication I've been on for 3 years so just a few weeks that I don't have an anti depressant. But I do still have my mood stabiliser, anxiety tablets, and nightmare medication. Only 2 weeks until I see my psychiatrist again, counting down.

Yeah I have been on google looking at all different support groups. That's how I come across this, but I have found a couple in my area that I have written down I just need to work up the courage to ring them. I worry that my problems are going to be ridiculous and silly to other peoples.

Thank you so much for you message

Jess

Hey Jess,

Just remember, anyone who is attending the support group if you decide to go, is going through much the same as yourself and having the same thoughts and worries about what others think of them okay?. So, all that leaves is for you to pluck up the courage and pick up that phone.

I'm not sure if you are in the UK but if so, there is a bit of a crackdown on anti-depressants, some patients were asked if they wanted to take part in a trial as they? believe these drugs are no working but it was optional.

Hope your medication is sorted soon.

Oh, by the way, do you do anything to keep your mind occupied, study, hobbies, gym etc. these all help along with mindfulness.

Thank you so much,

I will try find some courage to ring the support groups.

I'm actually from Australia.

I do need to get my research and education on a lot of things so I know what I can, should or shouldn't do or take.

You're very welcome, anytime any day Jess, if you want support, we're here for you and please don't dwell too much on the do's and don't, was thinking along the lines that it would take your mind off your health, so something that you enjoy would be great! {{{{hugs}}}
