you will need to lose 5% of your body weight .you will be given a book to read of the procedure, before having the opp which will be most likely be a bypass rather than a band. you will see a doctor and a psychiatrist, the length of time from starting the program to the opp could take several months
Firstly i wod lile to say well done for takimg the step, there is a process to be gone through, we are not stupid people we are over weight, i am headed to over eaters annonymous to fix my emotional attatchment to food, i really do wish you all the best, let me know how you are doing and where you are in the process, i am at the very begining and very excited as i know my life will be totally different in 12 mths time
hi everyone i am new to the group,,,i am 56 years old with graves have gain so much weight since 2012,,,no thyroids ,,,i am thinking serously about having the weightloss surgery called the sleeve,,,,,the reason is because me and my husband is raising our oldest grandson he is almost 10 now ,,i need to enjoy him i want to so much ,,its our oldest son son ,,my oldest son was killed in a car wreck in 08 ,,he left behind three little boys,,sooooo its been a nitemare,,loosing our son,,i just need to see if anybody done good on this surgery without their thyroids,,,,,and the disease i have,,,
Please don't get duodenal switch as a lot of posts and from a friend who had it done, it causes the most health issues. I had the Roux En Y and have maintained a good weight loss and the least malabsorption problems. Research before you make a decision
hi all. Just an update. I have seen (and been prodded by!) just about every doctor in South Wales (it seems!) and am finally on a 6 month waiting list for my Roux en Y. I am doing slimming world and swimming at present x
