Possible Kidney Failure
His hepatologist changed his Hep B medication from
Viread
to Vemlidy just recently and also cut back his dosage of Prograf. We are getting very concerned now because his feet are swollen and also his urine had 1+ protein.

Burning sensation in feet and hands
On the
viread
website I found that Peripheral neuropathy was found as one of the side effects however I think that was for HIV patients. But I am confused on that one. We already met our liver specialist and he doesn't find any apparent reason.

Gilead Seeks FDA OK for 3rd Combo Pill With New Tenofovir
TAF is an updated version of
Viread
(tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, or TDF), which targets cells more effectively and therefore requires less than 10 percent of the dose. Studies have suggested it has lowered toxicities to the bones and kidneys when compared with TDF.
