New vegan products released last month 🌱

It’s interesting to see on this list that cafe Nero and Costa have added a vegan option to their choices as if I ever go to these places which isn’t often I have always made a point of asking what their vegan option is and invariably a year or so ago there wasn’t one. So it’s good to see that they are now introducing a few items.

I like the look of the Amond butter bites.

It’s now becoming the exception for somewhere not to have a vegan option rather than the other way round which is great for us vegans 🌱

This is fantastic Ali, there is such a noticeable change now. I remember not so long ago asking for a vegan/GF option and what I got lots of blank stares, it really is becoming acceptable to be a vegan. Thank you for posting such happy news, I do agree those Almond Butter Bites look lovely : >

Well as Jerry says it’s the vegan pound they are after and if they want our hard earned cash they needed to buck their ideas up and they have so yes, it’s great news. 🌱😀

Hope with all the interest, the prices will come down to make it more affordable

Yes that’s very true. I was pleased to see our local Indian restaurant has a vegan menu but then later disappointed to see that if you buy the same dish off the regular menu it’s cheaper. The same dish on the vegan menu is about 30p more expensive just because it’s on the vegan menu. We looked at the allergens list and the only difference is the price so they are cashing in on people choosing vegan! ☹️

I agree, they cah in like they do with us for Gluten Free - I am amazed that they can justify selling a small jar of GF peanut butter for £4.99.

I had an email from Holland & Barret showing all the Vegan options, I saw the prices and I emailed them because its just so off putting, how do they expect to sell 80g of Vegan Choc at £4.99 (I hope that wasn't the introductory offer) I never got a response

That’s really bad. You wouldn’t want to pay those prices on principle! Even if you did have more money than sense. You would think they would make it affordable and have a better turn over......Debs, we need to open a shop! Lol

😊

This is really good, maybe I won't be taking my own plant based milk to cafes. With two big names like these I'm sure others will follow.😀

That’s true. I thought of you the other day and your quest to find a decent milk. I know you started making your own but I bought KoKo milk for my son to try and it’s very nice. Not sure if it froths up but I’m going to buy it in if I have any visitors for more than a short visit as I don’t think they could tell the difference. 🙂

I may have to rethink the milk that I make as I think I've made a connection with cashew nut milk in that it upsets my tummy🤔. I'm fine with oatmilk but I'll look at KoKo.

Bring on the alternatives to dairy.

Oh dear that’s a nuisance. Oat milk is good and quick to make 🙂

It certainly is as I love the milk. Back to making oatmilk but the good thing is that's much cheaper to make😀

I tried the vegan cookie in costa - sadly not very nice.

But the vegan toastie in Nero was absolutely amazing - first toastie I've had since going vegan :)

I'm not surprised though, Neros seem to put more effort into it than the other coffee chains, I've long thought their soya milk tastes much nicer.
