My name is Strawberry I am a tiny dog who would like to tell you what happened regarding my heart and salt.
I had a heart murmur when I was born. Over the years it got forgotten as I seemed lively and healthy then I started to have seizures, bad seizures, painful, scary, and they happened more and more. Mummy took me to a specialist vet who took scans of my heart and said one of my valves does not work properly, she could not understand how come I was still alive ! and wanted to put me on betablockers. So mummy did this. But within a short time my skin was bad, with blisters and scabs, I found it very hard to stand up, walk, think, eat, drink. And started to get diabetes (constant weeding and thirst). Mummy got very scared. She did some research and found a connection with salt. She asked the vet who said there was no connection. It occurred to mummy that as she sometimes gives me a little foodie treat such as a small piece of cheese maybe that made a difference. It seemed that my seizures would happen later that day or the day after and it seemed more than coincidence. She did some more search and learnt about hawthorn berry juice. Now I am fine. Because mummy gives me a little treat now and then with some hawthorn berry juice on it. I do not have to take that horrible medicine that made me much more ill. I felt awful then.
