Hello Ive just been told i need a kidney Transplant/dialysis . had liver transplant 12 yrs ago scared any advive anyone. Thanks so much
I dont think there's much you can do apart from eigher starting dialysis then moving on to have a kidney transplant unless if you can find a suitable kidney donor for you to have your kidney transplant first then that will save you from starting dialisys because I was on dialisys from June 2008 until February 2012 as my brother came forward and became a living kidney donor and currently my health is excellent the reason for my kidney failure was because I had a heart transplant in March 1993... I had my new kidney at end of October, and feeling great now. First couple of weeks were tough, but every day after it just went from good to better.

Thanks to all of u for your prompt reply, was having a bit of a panic about it all not so worried about repercussions on me but those that depend on me . Slept on it and a bit more practical thinking today . Situation is no different annoying thing is i only found out that i had ckd in a passing comment from a gp nurse and i certainly had no idea that i was in a high risk group to get ckd / renal failure . The renal unit could nt quite believe i was, nt referred earlier as i have had soaring bp , constant headaches and rising creatanine levels since nov 11 approx . The gfr has taken a drastic decline since nov/ dec 2013 but i was only referred last month for an urgentkidney biopsy . The results show extensive and irreversible scarring and damage to the kidneys caused by long term high blood pressure . Thats the problem hey ho facts are ther' s not a lot i can do about it now just gotta focus on the solution and the future . But thanks again guys really appreciate your feed back.
There are different types of dialysis so just make sure you find the ones that will fit in with your lifestyle . Good Luck
