Iv recently had a transplant and my eyes keep swelling and my neck keeps cramping has anybody else had this .
Hi, I had similar symptoms just aftger my transplant which were put down to the steroids I was taking. The best thing I can advis you to do is contact ur consultant as they may need to review your medication. The cramping is down to your potassium levels. For the fact that you ar so early on after ur op, I would urge u to speak to ur consultant xx
Hi I get blood tests every three weeks my potassium levels are low they were low when I was on dialysis I could eat anything I think it's the tacrolimus I have spoken to my consultant and told them but they don't seem that bothered my eyes are swelling as well they say they don't know what's causing it .
DO NOT HESITATE to go to your renal transplant consultant about this problem, it is urgent! As Fairy|Pants suggested, the cramping might well be due to your potassium level.

Side effects of Tacrolimus can also cause cramping, however, I have been taking Tacrolimus for seven year now and I (touch wood) have never experienced swelling from those. The eye swelling could be nothing to worry about, u must remember your body is still getting used to a new lease of life. My advice is to maybe book an appointment to get ur eyes tested. Speak to the optician and go from there. It may be be something of nothing but worth a try. Good luck, and keep us posted xx
