can I take higher doses of prednisolone to ease my gout with my renal transplant

No way can you increase any drug without the consent of you renal consultant/ doctor. Don't even think of it.

Think about what foods or drink you are taking, to see if anything is encouraging the gout. Avoid any acidic foods.

predniisolone is a steroid and you must not taken more than periscribed it is dangers ask your consultant if you can take collchasin it works well for gout you must be very carefull not to risk your transplant allway ask your transplant team thay are there for you

You must not increase your pred without your docs permission. it is likely to cause you a number of other problems in the long term if you do eg. diabetes, high blood pressure an sleep problems.

Hi ,yes I take a higher dose of prednisolone e.g 20 miligrams a day for as long as it takes to ease your gout,as recommended by my consultant ,I also take allpurinal every day which is supposed to be a preventative, colcochine does help a lot with gout but can give you terrible stomach upsets,speak to your doctor about this
