Help with editing profile

how do I edit my profile to have the words 'start a conversation' and also how do I edit the name (i used my daughters nickname but want to change it to her real name)

If you're looking at your profile page, you won't see "start a conversation" because you shouldn't need to start a conversation with yourself (I talk to myself frequently, just not by email...) It's simply a quick way to contact other members so that you can click under their name and their address is already loaded ready for a message.

Currently there is no way to edit your username - though you could delete your profile and resubscribe if this is really something you want to change. Admittedly that is a tortuous process so sorry for that. I shall add it to our wishlist of technical functions that people have asked for. Though I'm not sure if it'll possible for people to change their usernames without losing access to their previous activity (other blogs you've written for example).

I should have realised that the 'start a conversation' wouldnt have been on my profile, that seems rather a silly question now i think about it, maybe i would be better having a conversation with myself!! lol. im just not very up-to-date with all this, my 15 year old daughter could do all this techno stuff in her sleep.

Thanx for taking the time to answer a silly question. im not going to bother changing ny daughters name, its not worth the hassle, i thought maybe it could have been done easily but i will just leave it as it is.

Didn't someone wise once say that there's no such thing as a silly [stupid] question? And rest assured, technology confuses the heck out of me a lot of the time...

Now thats sorted how do we edit posts for typos and getting rid of unintentional smileys that seem to keep occurring?

If such a facilty doesn't already exist how can we suggest one to the powers that be at HU?
