Anniversary is close

I am nearly 1 year from the day tinnitus landed in my brain. You could call it a Tanniversary.

Just wanted to document here that I have felt it go slightly louder but also got used to it at the same time. Sometimes a second much higher pitch comes in for 10 seconds and disappears.

The volume is pretty constant but sometimes after work are super loud and invasive, I then have to work to get it down a level by relaxing or walk outdoors.

I decided to not go for a Lenire treatment because a. It is expensive (i don’t know why you couldn’t rent the equipment) and b. The time commitment is not realistic for me at this stage (I know I will not keep up with it).

So then Tinnitus has become a sort of moody cat that lives in my brain. It is only tamed when I look after it, but sometimes does whatever it wants to do.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE on this group. My tinnitus has become old news amongst colleagues, friends and family and I rarely talk about it (and even more rarely get asked about). So it is nice to share this reality with you all.

💛

thank you for coming here and sharing your thoughts.

I believe, without concrete evidence, that most people who’ve been helped here don’t return here - because they are so much better and do not think about their T or do not want to be reminded of times that were hard.

So thanks again!

I successfully alleviate my basic grade tinnitus using tiny doses of Ginkgo. Sometimes it's not there (not today though!) but it will come back. A bottle of tablets will cost around £5 and will last for much more than a year

Only taken one day in three. Click on my username for posts on how I do it

well done for managing it. Your post sounds a lot like my experience and views. Best of luck

I appreciate the word ‘Tanniversary’ !

You know what it’s like someone says something about an anniversary or birthday and we want to come right back and say ‘Happy ….’ which is nothing I’d wish anyone.

Fingers crossed the Thingy behaves itself, thank you and wishing you well.
