Good morning!

Some of you may remember me from the early days of this forum, when I was a moderator here.

I thought I'd pop on to say that after 14 years at Tinnitus UK/British Tinnitus Association, it's time for me to move on.

I won't be leaving the tinnitus field though - I've been fortunate to be awarded a fully funded PhD studentship, and I will be looking at tinnitus and hyperacusis advice in primary care. So perhaps you'll my work published in the future.

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to you all, as I've learned so much from you in my time here, and learning about your struggles, your successes and your hopes for the future have inspired me to take on this project. I hope it brings change, you all deserve it!

Best wishes

Nic

Hi Nic

I certainly remember you well. I've only recently started visiting the forum again, so dropped lucky in being able to wish you well in your studies. Maybe you'll be the one who finally cracks it!

Take care of yourself and lots of luck for the future.

Thank you! I'm hoping at the least this work will mean better first consultations with GPs - GPs who are educated in tinnitus and hyperacusis, and empathetic, and can offer positive help.

Nic, I’m glad that what you’ve done over the last years has proved a boost to your career AND especially that your choice of research will benefit the tinnitus community.

We look forward to hearing your results in due course.

Do pop in to this community to see how we are doing!

Thank you! I'm sure I'll be dropping in from time to time. This is where the real experts hang out, there is nothing to beat lived experience! And although I do experience both tinnitus and hyperacusis myself, I am well aware that mine is different to most people's, and I shouldn't use mine as an example.

All the best to you in your studies, maybe it will be you that finds an answer for all of us. Educating GPs would be a great start. I look forward to hearing how your future goes.
