Hi Suz-2

I don't know if crowd-sourcing anti-depressant medication is the best way to find a treatment which works for you.

At best, people can share types of medications which they have noticed improvements in their mood from using, alongside other therapies. But these recommendations can't take into account your medical history, which your doctor has access to and forum members don't.

If you're not wishing to try medication - and that's an entirely legitimate choice - talk to your doctor about the options for anxiety counselling or contact a charity like Anxiety UK, who can signpost you to resources which can help:

Hi Suz_2 I suffer with anxiety and I'm reluctant to take meds - like you. It's not always easy to manage it especially when life gets tough. TUK Pat signposted me to Anxiety UK earlier this year . It's a very good place to start. I also take L -Theanine regularly and speak to a chaplain once a month. I don't think there's a perfect solution. It's just a matter of putting things in place which help you.

Might be worth while giving CBT Psychotherapy and Counselling a go... Good Luck.

I have been helped by talking to family and friends, also Julian Cowan Hill on Youtube who suffered Tinnitus many years he is an amazing calm voice which helps me cope - many videos and positive stories there - i know exactly how hard this is and if i could have taken a pill to help me i would but nearly everything has side effects or can trigger T - as others recommend Magnesium, i do take some before bed and a 'sleepy' tea - i also do a meditation sleep 9 minute on an app and his voice sends me to sleep, sleep is crucial as you know, wishing you all the best X

You might try a SSRI such as Sertraline , I find that it really helps. Big advantage is it they are not addictive unlike other anxiety meds. However you will need a prescription. They work in a different way to other anxiety meds, ( SRRI- selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) check them out with Google and of course your doctor.

All the best, Velotin 😉
