Is blood pressure medication making your tinnitus worse?

Hi all, I have had tinnitus for 30 years after playing in a loud band. I've recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure and been prescribed Doxazosin which has sent the volume of my tinnitus through the roof. I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences?

I’ve had tinnitus since my late teens, hypertension controlled with medication since I was 58 ish and I’m now 77. If there was any effect on T it was very slight.

I’m glad to say that my hypertension medication was reduced about 18 months ago and reduced again two months ago. Tinnitus is slightly louder now, I think - but I had not thought one was related to the other.

I’ve not heard of that BP med, I’m on Felodipine, just 2.5mg. Some info on BP meds, some can make tinnitus worse it would seem. healthmatch.io/high-blood-p...

My doctor has taken me off doxazosin, since I started with tinnitus 4weeks ago x
